NOTE : The actual Electoral List is headed Parish of Monzievaird whilst the index gives it its correct name of Monzievaird and Strowan . The two parishes were united at the start of the 19th century and the pre Reformation kirk of Strowan was used up until about 1804 . It is still in existence but a ruin and has a many interesting stones still readable including a wall memorial in Latin dating back to 1541 in memory of John Murray of Strowan ( Strowan = St Rowan ) Names on stones of families such as M’Rostie ( y) , Robertson, Bayne , Bruce and Comrie are still around the area. Also note like many Perthshire parishes Monzievaird has a detached part which encompasses the area around Meigar on the road up Glen Artney which by logic should be in Comrie Parish . Births , baptisms and marriages are in Monzievaird OPRs not Comrie .
